Summary:

An opportnity for an Associate Director, experienced in Environmental Consultancy / EIA, has opened at a gloval multidisciplinary engineering team covering Civil, Structural, Geotechnical & Environmental disciplines. Joining the Edinburgh team to primarily focus upon Renewable Energy projects.

As Associate Director you will be involved in a wide range of projects throughout the UK. We encourage and develop our people and provide them with a varied workload and the autonomy to work individually, as well as giving them the opportunity to make a valued contribution to the team. Reporting to the Manging Director, you will support them in delivering projects effectively to strict deadlines, generating new business whilst maintaining technical performance standards.

Responsibilities Overview:

* Assist the Director and other Directors in leading, managing and taking responsibility for the technical and commercial performance of the company and your team.
* To keep abreast of industry best practice and new developments in own area of technical expertise.
* To develop and maintain an effective network of contacts and participate in industry events (seminars, conferences etc).
* Manage all technical and commercial aspects of commissions.
* Set and maintain technical standards.
* Technical review and approval of junior team’s reports / work.
* Deliver required financial and other targets; and to comply with all safety and IMS procedures and ensure that staff do likewise.

Qualifications / Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Masters’ preferable)
* Must be a Chartered Engineer
* Have experience reviewing statutory environmental statements and co-ordination of statutory EIA.
* Experience of technical reporting in an environmental discipline.
* Able to demonstrate a good understanding of different technical areas of expertise, such as habitats regulations, planning or environmental design.
* Have the drive and self-motivation to continuously develop your skills & others skill sets.
* Be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and team leadership qualities.
* Ability to apply technical knowledge in analysing problems and creating solutions,
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
* Ability to lead and motivate staff by example, consistently reliable and have a responsible attitude to work.
