This is an exciting opportunity for and Electrical Engineer. You will be based in Leinster (with the possibility of working remotely also). 

The position of an Electrical Engineer would suit a motivated, practical and adaptable individual who has the ambition to gain Chartered Engineer status and wishes to work in a progressive and innovative contracting environment.

The Role

Working under the direct supervision of a Chartered Engineer, and in conjunction with process and mechanical engineers the post holder will support the delivery of a range of water projects across Republic and Northern Ireland and the UK. The design work will include design and planning of fusing and circuitry for electrical power, instrumentation and building services using AmTech or other software package, liaison with process plant suppliers, our subcontractor partners across a range of water projects.


  • Prepare specifications and scope of work for electrical equipment such as water treatment pumps and blowers, power generators, MCC’s, transformers,  instrumentation, data systems etc.
  • Prepare electrical power and control cables interconnection block diagrams
  • Carry out design calculations for cable-sizing, short circuit calculations, lighting calculations, power balance studying etc.
  • Review of electrical layout drawings and instrumentation arrangements
  • Prepares sketches and performs engineering calculations
  • Preparation of instrument schematics, loop drawings and layout drawings
  • Selection, specification and design of process instrumentation and safety instrumented systems


  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent a pre-requisite
  • Computer literate and able to work effectively with the basic Microsoft suite of programmes as a minimum
  • Good understanding of the electrical design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts as well as some experience technically i.e. calculations
  • Some commercial awareness
