We have a great opportunity for a Senior/Principal Acoustic Consultant to join an advance acoustics team and work on a wide range of exciting and challenging projects across various sectors such as environmental, renewable energy, transportation, and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acoustics, be innovative and willing to embrace new technologies, and be able to explain complex acoustic concepts to a non-technical audience. As a Senior/Principal Acoustic Consultant, you will have the chance to lead a variety of projects covering environmental acoustics, renewable energy acoustics, transportation acoustics, and occupational noise and vibration. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and develop junior staff, including providing line management.
Qualifications:
- A degree (1.1 or 2.1) in acoustics or a related technical discipline (e.g. Physics, Maths, or Engineering)
- MIOA/FIOA membership
- Chartered status or working towards it
Minimum Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of the Environmental Impact Assessment process regarding Noise and Vibration
- Ability to scope and determine onsite noise monitoring requirements
- Ability to review N&V assessments
- Experience in environmental noise and vibration assessment of renewable energy and transportation projects, including understanding of noise and vibration-related health impact assessment
- Experience in wind energy projects, including performing Directional Analysis, Tonal Assessment, developing Curtailment Strategies, and assessing Amplitude Modulation
- Experience providing expert advice to clients on all noise-related projects
- Experience with Predictor Noise Modelling Software, MATLAB, Labview, and SvanPC++ (preferred)
- Proficiency in relevant standards such as ISO 9613-2, ETSU-R-97, BS 5228, BS 4142, ISO 1996-1 and ISO 1996-2, and EPA guidance
