Senior Water Services Engineer

We are currently expanding our water services business on the east coast and are looking for an experienced senior water services engineer to join our team in Dublin at Associate level, to expand our project portfolio in the east of the country while offering technical and managerial support across the rest of the company’s offices in Galway, Castlebar and London.

The successful candidate will be a chartered engineer holding, at a minimum, a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Process Engineering or Mechanical & Electrical Engineering (Honours), or equivalent. A Masters’ Degree in a relevant engineering or business management field would also be desirable.

He/she will have a keen commercial and business development sense, strong technical knowledge of all aspects of water services and a proven track record in the successful management and delivery of both public and private sector water services projects.

Key Tasks include:
  • Client liaison and business development, including preparation of tenders and proposals for new work
  • Director of projects in the Dublin office, with responsibility for the management and allocation of resources across various projects
  • Project financial control
  • Development and implementation of an annual business plan for the company
  • Implementation of business management systems within the Dublin water services team
  • Conduct project and non-project related risk management

Experience Required
A minimum of 15 years’ experience in the water services industry, including experience of managing project teams within an engineering consultancy, is essential, as is a working knowledge of national and European legislation relevant to water and water services projects.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in the preparation of Feasibility Studies, Preliminary Design Reports, Contract, and Tender Documents and Tender Assessment Reports for large water services projects in Ireland, along with experience of construction and contract management under GCC, FIDIC, EI and other forms of contract. They will also have experience in preparing successful tenders and fee proposals to clients.
