We now have an excellent opportunity for a Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join us at our state of the art Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) site at Runcorn.

The Control & Instrumentation Engineer Role:

The Control & Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for all controls & instrumentation engineering and maintenance, with some aspects of mechanical & electrical engineering, at the Runcorn ERF. You will work in co-operation with the Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to coordinate, schedule and plan maintenance activities day to day, and during planned or unplanned shutdowns.

The Control & Instrumentation Engineer's goal is to ensure optimal long-term availability of the plant, preserving the value of the assets and complying with environmental health and safety requirements. You'll also ensure financial targets are met within the electrical department.

The Control & Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for efficient planning and execution of maintenance activities within the Runcorn ERF plant, including the workshop's management. You'll participate in continual personal development within the organisation to achieve improved performance, promote flexible team working by creating an environment which will enable the team to identify issues and create innovative solutions.

The ideal Control & Instrumentation Engineer:

 *Previous Control & Instrumentation maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial plant is essential. *You'll have knowledge of repair methods of control & instrumentation machinery and equipment, plus an understanding of safe systems of work and Preventative Maintenance Systems. *You'll have an appropriate Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC. The post holder will have excellent communication skills with the ability to think logically and solve problems effectively. *This position will require response to plant and equipment breakdowns both during normal working hours and outside of normal working hours to ensure that vital work is achieved timely and accurately.
