In Calderdale, you are at the Heart of the Pennines. Working in the midst of striking scenery at the historical crossroads between Lancashire and Yorkshire. We have more public rights of way than roads that serve to link our breath-taking countryside. We are only a short trip away from the two great Northern cities of Leeds and Manchester. We are an ambitious Council, working to be the Best Borough in the North.

We are in a major programme of infrastructure investment, delivering a £180m transport fund programme over the next four years. An active part of the Leeds City Region and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
2024 is an important year for Calderdale. We are excited about Calderdale's future.
- We have invested in better transport links, including a direct train service from Halifax to London.
- We are investing in our libraries, leisure facilities, housing and schools. so that our Children will have a brighter future.
Calderdale Council is leading by example in the action against climate change. The Council has declared a Climate Emergency and an Ecological Emergency and committed its own operations and the Borough to becoming carbon neutral by 2038.
In short, we think Calderdale is a great place to live today and believe that tomorrow will be even better.
