ABOUT USThe Cotswolds National Landscape is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, looked after by a small team working in partnership with a number of other organisations.
The team at the Cotswolds National Landscape is an independent statutory body that works to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Cotswolds; to increase understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities; and to foster the social and economic well-being of local communities.
It was established by Parliamentary Order in 2004 and has 37 members drawn from local authorities, parish councils and appointments made by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs. Our employee team is supported by 350+ voluntary wardens working right across the Cotswolds.

OUR WORK
The Cotswolds AONB was designated for its special qualities and it’s our role to make sure that these qualities – landscape, geology, wildlife, biodiversity and cultural heritage – are well cared for and will be here for everyone to continue to enjoy for many years to come.
WALKING & EXPLORING
Lace up & get stuck into walking the Cotswolds.
The Cotswolds is one of the country’s most beautiful landscapes with nearly 800 square miles of superb scenery, picturesque towns and villages, as well as endless opportunities to get out and explore the area on foot, by bike or on horseback.
CARING FOR THE COTSWOLDS
The Cotswolds is a special place to live, work and visit.
The Caring for the Cotswolds grants scheme is a way for businesses and people to give something back to ensure the environment is taken care of. We do this by using donations to support projects that conserve vital habitats and species and protect our heritage so it can be enjoyed by future generations.
We also want residents and visitors to enjoy the fantastic landscape. We do this by using donations to support projects that improve access, such as footpaths, and education and interpretation so that people can learn about the environment and our rich history.
