Principal Acoustics Consultant

Our client's established Acoustics and Vibration Team has achieved ongoing commercial and geographical expansion, with a healthy forward workload and recent hires expanding the teams’ presence into locations throughout the UK. With a strong pipeline of potential projects, the team is looking to continue this growth through the appointment of a Principal level Acoustician, who has a background the includes wind farms, construction, built environment and power sector. This is an opportunity to join a highly successful international multi-disciplinary consultancy, where you can fully utilise use your commercial consultancy and business development experience, to complement and add to this breadth of expertise.

The role

Working on a range of environmental and buildings acoustics projects, across a range of sectors including built environment, education, mining & quarrying, waste and power, you will provide legislative and development planning advice to a wide range of clients. This will involve:

  • Managing Environmental and/or Building Acoustics projects and advising clients on developments such as mixed use and residential masterplans, quarries, infrastructure and energy.
  • Preparation of fee proposals, report writing and technical review work.
  • Liaising with technical staff and project managers based in other UK offices.
  • Seeking new opportunities through business development and networking to expand Acoustic capabilities across the UK, as well as cross-selling other services.
  • Travel and surveys may be required outside of working hours.

As well as playing a key role in the delivery of existing projects, you will have the opportunity to expand, diversify and grow our portfolio of projects and clients and make a real contribution to the Acoustics team - and to help shape the continued growth of the team.

About you

With proven Environmental and/or Building Acoustics Consultancy experience, including project management and reporting, you'll also have demonstrable tendering and business development capabilities, including contributing to commercial growth activities.

  • Experienced in use of noise and vibration monitoring equipment
  • Experienced in use of Cadna/A software
  • AMioA or MioA membership and a relevant degree level qualification
  • Knowledge of BS8233 BS4142, BS5228, RIBA, BREEAM
  • Experienced in attending and participating in client meetings
  • Drivers licence valid in the UK.
