Title: Assistant Ecologist (Bird Surveyor)

Please note: Applicants MUST be based in Ireland, within a commutable distance of Ennis, Co. Clare, and possess a minimum of six months of working experience (seasonal, freelance, or volunteer at least) in the Irish Ecological sector to be considered.

Job overview:
As the Project Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in creating, updating, and coordinating project and employee schedules. Working closely with team leaders, you'll contribute to building, evaluating, and optimizing project schedules in a cross-functional team environment. If you are a highly motivated individual with exceptional organization, technical, and communication skills, this role offers the opportunity to work with professionals and deliver superior service.

Key responsibilities:
  • Undertaking a broad range of breeding and wintering bird surveys, including species-specific surveys and general surveys.
  • Use of data tablets and survey forms in the field to produce high-quality field notes and mapping of data.
  • Reviewing data and mapping produced within the Ecology Team, and assisting in non-ornithological surveying as required.
  • Drafting baseline ecological reports, ensuring well-written text and data presentation.
  • Collating and storing ecological data to specified guidelines and promoting RSK SHEQ expectations.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of six months of previous experience undertaking Ecological surveys in Ireland (internship, volunteer, or seasonal work is welcomed).
  • Academic background in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a similar field.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Fully allowed to work in Ireland on a full-time basis.
