We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a team in Limerick. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification, with 2 to 6 years of relevant experience. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on diverse engineering projects while receiving mentorship from senior staff to enhance your skills and professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 2 to 6 years of experience in civil or structural engineering design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, with an aptitude for AutoCAD 3D and Building Information Modelling (e.g., Autodesk Revit).
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, particularly PWMF Forms of Contract.
  • Knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Project, MicroDrainage, and GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, MapInfo).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to deliver high-quality designs while liaising with clients.
  • Review documents and designs prepared by Graduate Engineers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and review preliminary designs and reports using various computer applications, followed by detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Oversee the procurement of site investigation, building, and civil engineering contracts.
  • Assist Project Managers in preparing tender documents and conducting tender assessments.
  • Administer construction contracts to ensure design requirements, project schedules, and budgets are met.
  • Take direction from Line Managers and collaborate with senior project team members to achieve project objectives.
