Opportunity:
Our client is a major multidisciplinary firm and they’re looking to expand their environmental planning team at their Birmingham office. They’re looking to bring in either an experienced Environmental Planner at either the Senior or the Principal level to support on a number of inbound projects across multiple sectors including energy, infrastructure, utilities, waste and residential property. As the new Environmental Planner, you’ll be part of the wider Environment, Sustainability and Planning team, supporting predominantly with environmental impact assessments for engaging, innovative developments across the UK. Responsibility:
As either a Senior Environmental Planner or Principal Environmental Planner, your responsibilities will include:
* Leading and overseeing multiple projects at a given time.
* Coordinating your team and collaborating with other teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
* Design and carry out project plans including all reporting, collecting of data and scoping.
* Liaise with clients and stakeholders such as NGOs, local councils and developers.
* Prepare, coordinate and present EIAs and SEAs to clients, relevant authorities and stakeholders.
* Build and maintain new and existing relationships to win business for the company.
Requirements:
To be considered for this Environmental Planner (EIA) positions, you should try to meet the following:
* Senior: 3-6 years’ experience / Principal: 7+ years’ experience with coordinating EIAs for a variety of projects.
* Experience with communicating with clients, stakeholders and other external bodies.
* Member of a relevant professional body e.g. IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM etc.
* Experience with mentoring and supporting junior staff, Principals will want line managing experience also.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of UK environmental law, planning policy and guidelines relating to the full EIA process and compliance.
* DCO experience and understanding is desirable but not essential.
