Glas Éireann Solutions (GES) is an ESCO (energy service company) launching in Ireland in Autumn 2017 serving the public and private sectors throughout all provinces of Ireland. Job Description

The Chief Technology Officer will be a central role in the company, managing local and national contracts for energy performance upgrades. 

This role will include, but is not limited to:

1. Using knowledge of all facets of energy management from energy audits, project management of energy efficiency and renewable energy feasibility studies to project implementation. The CTO will be expected to work with fellow staff to drive projects and demonstrate strategic leadership on delivery of projects. 

2. Energy auditing, understanding client requirements, completion of drawings, design for energy project upgrades, procurement and project management. 

3. Liaising directly with client senior management, developing bespoke client centered solutions and ensuring delivery to a high standard on time and on budget. This role also includes the development of new and existing relationships in the public, private, research and policy development sectors in line with the ethos of GES.

4. Delivering deep energy retrofits including renewables. Designing lighting, HVAC and renewable energy installations. Using software packages to ensure best practice upgrades. Feasibility studies and energy audits on buildings and facilities Project implementation and project management. Energy project design and specification. Managing energy performance contracts.

5. Managing (and hands on Implementation) of large energy upgrade projects including heat pumps, CHP, Biomass, PV, District heating etc.

6. Representing the technological agenda in staff meetings and helping expand this team further.

7. Maintaining current knowledge of technology landscape and developments.

8. Tracking, analyzing and monitoring technology performance metrics.

9. Taking the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity.

Candidate Requirement

The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

• Graduate Degree in building services engineering/ or related technical discipline with relevant experience.
• Qualifications as required for SEAI Registered Energy Auditor.
• Proven track record of success in leadership positions.
• Excellent Communications skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Use of AutoCAD IES, Homer, Dialux.
• Self-starter and self-motivated.
• Exceptional project management and organization skills.
• Experience (5+ years) in one or more of the following sustainable energy disciplines:
o Building services engineering with specific reference to sustainable energy implementation (biomass boilers & heat pumps).
o Lighting design (interior and exterior) using modern efficient equipment and controls.
o HVAC Design, of building heat pump design and integration in buildings.
o Public sector energy management.
o Building energy retrofit or other renewable energy project implementation.
o Consultancy at a senior level in the public and private sectors.
o Specific knowledge of climate change and how impact to energy usage.

Salary
