Senior Consultant - Net-Zero Carbon

Lewis Davey is delighted to be exclusively supporting JLL as they look to expand their Upstream Sustainability service line and specifically their Net-Zero Carbon team with the addition of both an Associate Director and Senior Consultant.     

This is a great opportunity to own the long-term client relationship and deliver net-zero carbon strategy largely on behalf of major landlords and developers across the UK and Europe.  With significant investment in delivering change, you’ll be joining a truly international business that has the capability and track record to drive pathways to net-zero carbon.

We’re looking for carbon guru’s – people who have experience of GHG protocol, carbon foot-printing, data, offsetting, renewable energy strategy and ideally whom have exposure to property – ideally the whole property cycle from development, design & build through to operational buildings / portfolios.

We are looking for a NZC Senior Sustainability Consultant to join the Upstream Sustainability Services Business line.

The opportunity to work with us will provide you with exposure to high-profile clients and highly engaging and supportive colleagues. The role will involve conducting the research that underpins the sustainability advice we give clients. Communicating our advice to clients in a clear and visual way is a vital bedrock of our support. Your understanding of sustainability, and the research and data that supports our conclusions, combined with your design and communication ability, will enable you to help clients create and implement their sustainability strategies across their real estate portfolios.

What this job involves

§  Supporting our clients, including FTSE 100 business, make the transition to Net Zero Carbon, managing climate risk and addressing wider sustainability ambitions

§  Understanding of clients’ climate risks and carbon footprints, as well as a range of other sustainability issues

§  Supporting the strategy development and delivery of a range of climate and carbon projects, from developing carbon footprints, transitioning to a circular economy, supporting compliance and wider reporting to setting targets and developing business cases for delivering on ambitious goals such as Net Positive or Science Based Targets

§  Provide clients and colleagues with cutting-edge climate change and carbon advice, aligning it with the developing global agenda and international best practice

§  Supporting clients through the implementation of their climate / carbon / circular strategy, through well-crafted goals, actions plans, and bringing the strategy to life through engagement

§  Actively supporting the development of Upstream’s circular economy services

§  Supporting the business development of our carbon, climate risk and wider sustainability services to a range of listed investors and corporate client base.

§  Working with our clients through the provision of accurate and timely advice and deliverables.

§  Working in a rigorous manner to deliver accurate, high quality, engaging and client-ready outputs.

§  Support the professional development of others within the team

§  Build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders


Sound like you?

The ideal candidate will be required to demonstrate:

§  Relevant degree and/or masters or equivalent work experience

§  Experience in the developing of carbon footprints and an understanding of voluntary / mandatory carbon reporting

§  Experience with carbon reduction strategy development/implementation

§  Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with an ability to manage and interpret data to inform effective decision making

§  Experience in initiatives such as CDP, GRESB, ESOS, GHG Protocol, Science Based Targets, Net Positive, Net Zero Buildings, Circular Economy approaches would be desirable

§  Project management experience and excellent communication skills

§  Attention to detail and accuracy, in written, visual and numeric work

§  Personable character with an ability to foster good working relationships with colleagues and clients

§  Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising with, engaging and presenting to a range of stakeholders

§  Passionate about tackling climate change and about the wider sustainability agenda
